November 8, 2008

I have just released the ninth update to the Ones and 0s album which is a first time release of  “Foot In Your Door”.

I actually did this song in just one day last year. I woke up, wrote and recorded it. Took a lunch break and then mixed it and finished it - I hope you like it.

Extra material will also be available for download for the Ones and 0s subscribers.

7th Bonus Track is released

October 11, 2008

I have just released the seventh update to the Ones and 0s album which is a old song from the vaults of ancient Geoff Smith tunes. Its an old demo of mine called “Don’t Look Now”.

This was back in the day when I thought I’d be a John Mayer/Dave Matthews songwriter type of guy. Yes I was doing the coffee shop circuits in Austin, Texas those days. This song is a bit more introspective than I seem to be these days, but it feels good to revisit an old friend. Hope you all like it. “Don’t Look Now” has never been released before.

Sixth Bonus Track is Released

September 25, 2008

I have just released the sixth update to the Ones and 0s album which is a music video of the Geoff Smith classic “Not on the radio”. It is nostalgia for many as this was really one of my first big hits of exposure back when Adam Curry played this on the Daily Source Code.

The story behind it was that I was on the road doing a gig and my wife made the video with my daughter and then surprised me with it. It is from my first record, “Geoff Smith and the Tonewheels”.

Fifth bonus track is released

September 11, 2008

I have just released the fifth update to the Ones and 0s album which is a members only version of “Loving on a big hill”.

This song was born based on all some typos in Twitter - it is really a rather long story which is best explained on this blog post

Extra material will also be available for download for the Ones and 0s subscribers.

Forth Bonus Track release

September 1, 2008

I have just released the fourth update to the Ones and 0s album which is a members only version of “Loneliness for Two (Live)”.

This is a live video recording of me performing in a 7 min long special version of the song with support from his band at a show in St Louis, MO. The trumpet player showed up that night with his horn and just sat in with my band. It was quite a fun night. I’ll be posting lots more footage from that night.

To get the update just check your Ones and 0s podcast in iTunes and refresh. The new track should be downloading right away.

Extra material will also be available for download for the Ones and 0s subscribers.

Third Bonus Track Released-Rose (Remix)

August 14, 2008

This week I wanted to release a cool remix version of my old song, Rose, which originally was featured on “Geoff Smith and the Tonewheels“.  Rose has always been a favorite of my fans and mine too actually. So I am really happy to have this cool remix out for everyone to hear. You can get it on the Dynamic Version of Ones and 0s

I was really excited when I saw all the fan videos to this song showing up on You Tube a few years ago. Yes the song has some hits of Doctor Who references in it, that was intentional. And the videos really brought it to life.

Here is a link to some of the videos that have been made based off the original version of the song

Second Bonus Track released for Ones and 0s

August 2, 2008

I have released the second bonus track for the dynamic album version of Ones and 0s, which can be found at http://www.ringtonefeeder.com/music.php. It is the video to the song Ones and 0s.

The very talented student filmmaker named Jonathan Davis created, shot, and edited this video. I can’t tell you how amazing of a guy he is. It was like working on a real film set, with the doorway dolly and big Pro camera. But he also took everyday things around my house to make this video look like something that could play on MTV.

Not only is Jonathan very talented, but he is such a generous soul and so interested in doing good things through art. I can’t wait to work with him again. You really need to work with Jonathan while you can, because he is headed for great things and big big big projects. Thank you Jonathan.

First bonus track released for Ones and 0s Dynamic version

July 16, 2008

I just released the first of many many many bonus tracks for the dynamic album version of Ones and 0s, which can be found at http://www.ringtonefeeder.com/music.php

It is a lounge/jazz version of Digg the Code, very tongue-in-cheek.

The story behind it is pretty cool. I played in Chicago last weekend (July 11th) with One World, my Police Tribute band. After one of the shows, I went to see Richard Cheese, the famous and very funny singer who does lounge versions of popular songs. It was an awesome show at the House Of Blues, and it really got me inspired to make a “Richard Cheese” version of one of my own songs. So I did it for Digg the Code. I hope you guys catch the humor in my attempt of parodying myself.

If you haven’t got Ones and 0s, the dynamic version of my album (the complete album plus free videos and ringtones, and then bonus material automatically updated every two weeks or so) go check it out. It really is a whole new way to get my music.

The regular 12 song version will be up on iTunes and CD baby in just a short time.
