Biography

Geoff SmithGeoff Smith was born in December 1972 and is an independent artist based out of Nashville TN.

His massively catchy power pop styles are reminiscent of the Beatles, Ben Folds and Squeeze.

Geoff began composing jingles and theme songs for podcasters back in 2005 and has written hundreds and hundreds and the list keeps growing.

Most of you probably know Geoff from his jingles heard on Adam Curry’s Daily Source Code Podcast, GeekBrief.tv, Radio Lingua Network, Tips from The Top Floor, ScreenCasts Online and the successful iYule project.

Themes and jingles for podcasts includes:
Pod Save The Queen, Heterosexual Moment on Pacific Coast Hellway, My Marilyn, Pete and Rene’s Happy Hour, The Go Daddy Commercial for DSC, Zee and Zed’s Shopping at Target, and he is currently working with several podcasters with their themes and jingles.

Where can I see Geoff live?

The Police Tribute BandGeoff has been Entertainment Director of the Big Bang Piano Bars for several years and he is performing live several nights every week at The Big Bang Bar in Nashville TN, and has also worked as an engineer and producer at Studio East in Charlotte, NC.

Geoff is also the keyboard player for the Nashville based power pop band, Codaphonic as well as the bassist and lead singer with Chicago based Police Tribute Band, One World. Check for details about the next performance on the dedicated tribute site.

If you are out at a karaoke bar somewhere, you will probably hear Geoff singing background with you as he is also currently providing his vocal talents to many of the top karaoke tracks out there today.

Finally, Geoff Smith has been singing with the IMpressions, the old motown group. They have been on the top 10 on the southern soul/beach music charts for the past few years with the song “Rhythm”. They were even up for song of the year at the Beach Music Awards in 2007.

iPhone ringtones

In April 2008 Geoff launched a new concept providing original ringtones via rss feeds to the iPhone. The ringtones are essentially short 20 second songs that are optimized to sound great on the iPhone and at the same time add a bit of fun to the process.

Support activities

Geoff Smith has been an active supporter and composer for the Songs of Love Foundation since 2006. Songs of Love Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing personalized songs for chronically and terminally ill children and young adults.
