Geoff is going to Africa again

I am very honored and excited about a new opportunity that has been brought to me. That opportunity is a trip to Zimbabwe at the request of Pastor Walter, SIM Zimbabwe’s Regional Director. He’s asked for a team of 3 music teachers and worship leaders to develop his group of 20-30 willing musicians and worship leaders. I will be going as a member of the World Music Mission, a ministry of Artists in Christian Testimony Intl.

We will be training these willing locals on guitar, piano, bass, drums, sound systems and Spiritual Formation for Worship Leaders.

The goal of this team will be three-fold: 1) teach basic music—instrumentation and theory 2) teach on the basics of Biblical worship and their role as leaders for their churches/missions and 3) begin developing the relationship, laying the groundwork for possible future teams. With our relationships in Uganda and Cameroon, WMM has realized the viability of investing in and helping build worship/music schools.

The trip will be August 5-15th 2016. The necessary $2255 will cover everything like the flight, visas, medical, etc.

Any donation is welcome and also tax deductible.

I have an account with WMM and ACT (Artists in Christian Testimony International) and you can donate directly to them on my behalf, or you can even donate directly to me. I’ll provide links and addresses.

Here is an important tip I should pass along:

All funds received for this trip are considered as gifts to World Music Mission/A.C.T. Intl and are tax-deductible. While the gift you make will be credited to my portion of the funds required for the trip, in the event that I am unable to participate all monies raised will be used to offset the costs incurred for the trip or to fund ministries on the field where we are going to serve. Further, since my balance is due (2) weeks prior to date of departure, any donations received by WMM/ACT after that date may be applied to another later mission trip/project. Please do not decrease your normal giving to your home church in order to support this mission project.

I want to thank anyone already who feels the call to help me.

Here is more information on WMM, ACT, and the Zimbabwe team.

The World Music Mission exists to empower and celebrate the global worship of Jesus Christ and to facilitate opportunities for worship leaders, musicians and technicians to use their gifts in the service of the Kingdom.

Artists in Christian Testimony Intl’s ultimate objective is to see people around the world—as they come to Christ—worship God and express their faith in their own language and cultural style, while mobilizing and training church and mission leaders to more effectively worship and communicate the Gospel through music and the arts.
