I write songs. I do jingles, theme songs, commercials, pop songs, all styles. I play live music, work in the studio, etc.
But one of the things I really love is Songs Of Love, a non profit organization that provides sick children with a source of inspiration, joy, and possible even healing. They do this by getting writers, like myself, to write an original personalized song for each child that has requested one. It starts with the family of the child requesting the song and giving Songs of Love all the personal life info and special things that they want sung in the song. That gets passed along to the writers, and we produce songs for the families and children. It is truly touching for me, especially when I get to hear from the children themsleves about how they like the song.
As a non profit, Songs of Love can use all the help they can get, so on May 13th myself and many other Nashville songwriters (even some from beyond) are going to perform at my piano bar, The Big Bang Bar in Nashville. We are inviting all who can come to enjoy some music, some really awesome prizes provided by Griffin Technology, and hopefully drop a few bucks in the pot for Songs of Love. Every little bit helps.
