New Mac Book Pro

Well I finally got my new MacBook Pro.
Gotta say, its been quite a night. I tried the migration assistant and it was not for me. It just added all the junk that I didn’t want from my PowerBook to MacBook Pro. So I just erased the Hard Drive and reinstalled Mac OSX and started to manually add the stuff that I wanted.
I have come to realize how untrusting I really ma of the “easy way”. While Apple is so good at making stuff happen so seamlessly, I still have to trust my instinct and go with what I know. Its probably my fatherly instincts kicking in, and also probably my natural instinct of not trusting the obvious.
I think there is a middle ground that I can find, but until then, I will continue to “look over my shoulder” and “look both ways” when the easy road is presented to me. I am not gonna just swallow the blue pill (see the Matrix and Adam Curry’s Daily Source Code). I am gonna always cross check my data, be just like Gideon and check the facts.
Oh, and by the way, the new MacBook Pro is great. Still working on it. But its just a tool to get the job done with.
